Gamers Having Heated Discussion Over Which Pokémon They Could Take In A Fight

Do you think you could beat a Pokémon in a fight?

I don’t know if you’ve ever had a discussion like this, but I’ve been party to multiple conversations where people discussed what animals they could fight off if needed. I’ve heard men say they could probably beat up a shark (unlikely) and women tell me they’d struggle with a house cat (because honestly, who wouldn’t), but how about we up the stakes? Would you be able to fight off a Pokémon?

Well, on the Pokémon subreddit a massive discussion (or perhaps an argument) has broken out about which pocket monsters fans would or wouldn’t be able to take on in a battle. So, let’s play along, shall we? The now-removed post reads: “Go to a random number generator and choose 1-898, then find out what pokemon that is on a national Pokedex. Do you think you could beat this pokemon in a one-on-one fight?”

Perhaps the opposite of a one-on-one fight with a Pokémon is Twitch Plays Pokémon...

If you want to find out what your Pokémon to fight is, use this number generator on Google and then simply put in 898 as your maximum. Hit generate and that’s your Pokémon. Cross-reference with this Pokedex and get ready to rumble. What did you get, and would you be able to fight them?

I’m going to say this now, I could absolutely beat my Pokémon in a fight. My number came out to 527 which correlates to the Woobat. Although my day job is writing about games, my side hobby is archery. This thing is going down no problem - and even if it does get close, I’m pretty sure I could boot it out of the park, right?

I’m lucky though because if anyone gets, let’s say, even a Pikachu, you’re being electrocuted. And how about a Graveler or an Onyx? What are you supposed to do against a literal rock? I’m not going to complain about my Woobat when there are other harder fights out there. So let us know if you think you’d be able to win, and how you’d do it!
