A 72-year-old Twitch streamer known and loved by the name of OldBuzzardt has passed away. The sad news was confirmed by his family via Twitch last night, leaving friends and fans to pay their own tributes to the US army veteran.
OldBuzzardt, who was more lovingly referred to by friends and fans as Buzz, previously served in the US Air Force and US Army Active Reserve. He started sharing Fortnite gameplay on Twitch a few years ago, and his endearing nature and enthusiasm earned him close to 80,000 loyal followers on the platform. He even had his own Creator Code on the battle royale, and would stream nearly every day to chat with his viewers.
Buzz unfortunately passed away over the weekend ahead of a scheduled Fortnite stream. His family chose to launch the stream anyway in his honour, simply leaving a message over a still image of a smiling Buzz, explaining to viewers what had happened.

"It is with a heavy heart we have to inform you that Buzz passed away at home on 10/17/2020," it read. "We have left the stream and chat open for you all to gather and pay your respects. We hope you know how much you all meant to Buzz."
Social media was soon full of messages and remembrances, with many of Buzz's fans pointing out what made him such a wonderful streaming presence. His boundless enthusiasm and willingness to chat with his followers, to treat them like friends, served as a welcome reminder that age has nothing to do with whether or not you can enjoy a video game. Buzz serves as a reminder that gaming is, and always will be, for everyone.
