Creepy Radiohead Reference Discovered In 'Resident Evil Village' Demo

We're all just weirdos.

You know what? Who doesn't like a little bit of Radiohead now and then? It might not be the music you hear when you go out partying, or when you're in the mood for dance or a workout - but Thom Yorke and co have such a wide breadth of fantastic music under the Radiohead name it's not a surprise to see the band's influence in every walk of life, including games.

One user on Reddit has spotted that Radiohead has somehow made it into Resident Evil Village. When looking closely at what seems to be a bottle of bleach on the floor of the Village demo, rather than any cleaning information on the side of the packaging, Harry101UK spotted that the lyrics to Creep were scrawled on the bottle instead.

Even though the Resident Evil Village demo hasn't been out long, the modders have already started making the game look ridiculous. Scared of vampires? Just make them into Barney the Dinosaur:

Though written messily and some words are difficult to read, the first verse of Creep is definitely written out on the side of the container. "When you were here before, Couldn't look you in the eye, You're just like an angel, Your skin makes me cry, You float like a feather, In a beautiful world" is all accurate. However, unusually, it seems that the last two lines are swapped around as if someone in the game misremembered the lyrics just a touch. "You're so very special, I wish I was special" isn't quite how the first verse goes in the song, but it's close enough as a definitive reference to Radiohead' most famous song.

Strangely enough, this isn't the only time we've seen Creep appear in a game in the last few months. The next Life is Strange title, Life is Strange: True Colors had the new lead sing a little cover of the song in the reveal trailer for the game. Though, perhaps a little on the nose, the song is regularly used in both edgy teen moments, when individuals feel like they don't belong, or more literally when something is a monster or a "creep". Gaming is full of monsters and edgy teens so it's only appropriate that we're seeing the song frequently pop up.
