'Among Us' Mod Allows For 69 Players - Nice

Yeah. Nice.

Ten is a nice round number. It's a good number for fingers and toes, a great ratio for imposters to crewmates, but what if someone with great understanding of how games work changed that to 69 ?

Well, YouTuber Qubit has documented the time that he experienced the biggest Among Us lobby that we have ever seen and the chaos that ensues. He uses his Discord of over 70 thousand people to select the chosen few (69) to download and try out the mod that '6pak' on the Discord had created.

The game loads in and it certainly looks like the game is confused by the number of people within it. The taskbar at the top of the screen looks just slightly overfull while the table in cafeteria is surrounded by crewmate carrots and a generally confusing array of costumes.

Two facts become very obvious, very quickly. The first is the game isn't designed for this many players, who would have thought? A player dies, a meeting is called, and the first accusations among a cacophony of comments are the ones that are going to be taken seriously. Doesn't matter what comes after, scream "It's Blue" and they're gone.

The second thing is that the game really struggles with the mod. When votes are collated you can see the votes continue off of the nameplates because ten votes should be the maximum. Glitches were kicking people out of the game left, right, and centre. Even though one name was voted for as the imposter, a completely different crewmate was ejected for no reason the players could see.

As a whole, it's a great experiment and we give massive kudos to the developer of the mod to even to attempt to change the rules of the game. We're not sure if we'll be trying to play 69 player version of Among Us any time soon, but we think this is going to be the first in a long line of fun modifications available for the game in the coming months and years.
