An Epic New Attack On Titan Game Is Available For Free, Right Now

One of the best-selling manga series of all time, Attack on Titan saw its last ever issue arrive in April. Dry your eyes, friends, because there's actually an awesome Attack on Titan game that is free to download.

Amazingly enough, this is the work of a small team of developers who have a shared passion for Attack on Titan. Roark's Attack on Titan Fan Game, as it is titled, is an online multiplayer game allowing players to battle it out as Eren, Mikasa, Levi, Armin, Jean, Sasha, Connie, Hange, Lana, Annie, Bertolt and Reiner. There are ten modes, comprising deathmatch, elimination, regicide, accumulation, infection, king of the hill, domination, racing, training and free-roam, and four fully fleshed out maps. These support 16 players across four teams, and it is absolutely worth taking a look at if you're a fan of Attack on Titan. Did I mention that it's free too? Bear in mind that the art style isn't as realistic as that of the manga series and the anime show, but this is their own interpretation of the world and it lets the action pop off the flat colours and simple shapes.

Developers are an innovative lot, aren't they? Here's what Grand Theft Auto Vice City 2 could look like, as per the efforts of modder MK_Dash.

There's a saying that goes, "if you build it, they will come," and that's just what fans of other franchises have done when it comes to their favourite things. For example, there's this concept of Pokémon Adventures Sinnoh which looks utterly unbelievable. In the Pokémon games, your pocket monsters will trail along behind you but creator Millenniumloops has taken it one step further in Adventures. Swimming with Gyarados, riding across rolling fields on Luxray, touching the clouds on Staraptor's back... just take my money already.

Alternatively, some fans have taken the original content of the game and then altered it to their own sensibilities. Though The Witcher 3 received the Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine DLCs, modder nikich340 decided to add a third chapter to Geralt's story in Wild Hunt with A Night To Remember. They spent more than a year's worth of work splicing existing cutscenes and conversations to continue where we left off in Blood and Wine, and it doesn't conflict with any other mods either! The power of creativity.
