Unless you live under a rock somewhere at the bottom of the sea or simply don't care about the latest shiny rectangle from a tech company that brings out shiny rectangles on a regular basis, it can't have escaped your attention that Apple just announced the iPhone 11.
It does all kinds of things that the last iPhone didn't do, I'm sure, but that's not for me to write about (and not just because I don't - and I can't stress this enough - I don't really care).Instead, I'm here to give you the lowdown on all the new games and details announced for the Apple Arcade subscription service, which I actually do care about because it looks like it could genuinely bridge the gap between casual and hardcore gamers and finally put to bed the argument that mobile gaming is pointless or somehow worth less than console/PC gaming.
First announced back in March, we now know that Apple Arcade is launching on September 19 on iOS 13, and will set you back £4.99 a month. More importantly, it'll offer a fairly formidable lineup of over 100 games, including brand new efforts from publishers like Ubisoft and Square Enix, as well as some old favourites.
During its special presentation last night Apple showed off three of these new games in greater detail. We saw two exclusives in the form of Shinsekai: Into the Depths, a cool-looking underwater platformer from Capcom, and Frogger in Toy Town from Q Games, which is basically the arcade classic we all remember with some fun modern touches. We also got a look at an Apple Arcade version of the incredibly stylish Simogo title Sayonara Wild Hearts, which had previously only been announced for Nintendo Switch.

Shortly after the event, Apple released a full rundown of all the games that will be making their way to Apple Arcade, and there are some promising sounding titles in there. Some highlights before I throw the full list at you; Bandai Namco is releasing a Pac-Man party game called Pac-Man Party Royale, Ubisoft has finally announced a new Rayman game called Rayman Mini in which you shrink down to the size of ant and get through levels as quickly as possible to achieve a perfect score, and an original game based on the popular cartoon Steven Universe game is coming from Cartoon Network.
Meanwhile, Square Enix announced a brand new RPG from the developers of Octopath Traveler. The horrendously-named Various Daylife "takes place in the year 211 of the Imperial Era as players explore a newly discovered continent while living life to the fullest in the city of Erebia."

In Rayman Mini, from Ubisoft, Rayman has been reduced to the size of an ant! Players use insects, mushrooms and plants to run through the world as quickly as possible or try over and over again to achieve the perfect score.
In Shantae and the Seven Sirens, from WayForward, players explore a vast sunken city and battle the Seven Sirens in the Half-Genie's most thrilling adventure yet.
Skate City from Snowman brings the heart and soul of street skating to life with multi-touch controls as city streets become the ultimate skater playground.

In Sneaky Sasquatch, from RAC7, players live the life of a Sasquatch and do regular, everyday Sasquatch stuff like sneaking around in disguise, raiding coolers and picnic baskets, playing golf and more.
Steven Universe: Unleash the Light is an original Cartoon Network game, co-written by Rebecca Sugar, where players pick their favorite characters, choose which Gems are in their party, unlock awesome new abilities and equip alternate costumes in the ultimate mobile role-playing game (RPG).
Super Impossible Road, from Rogue Games, is a futuristic, high-speed racing game where players master hairpin turns on courses that twist and coil over beautiful galactic backdrops.
The Bradwell Conspiracy, from Bossa, is a beautifully stylized conspiracy adventure thriller with a humorous twist.
