A ton of classic Ubisoft titles, including Assassin's Creed 2 and Far Cry 2,, are set to lose their online features and support in just a few weeks.
Tech Raptor reports that Ubisoft will be shutting down the online servers for a raft of older titles so that it can better focus on its newer releases. This means the multiplayer components of games like Splinter Cell Conviction and Far Cry 2 will be unplayable, while online features for single-player titles like Assassin's Creed 2 and Prince Of Persia: Forgotten Sands will no longer be available.
Below is the full list of games losing online support on May 22. Jump in and enjoy them while you can, I guess.

- Might & Magic - Clash of Heroes

You'll still be able to play and enjoy all of these games of course, and the loss of online support is hardly the biggest tragedy for games like Assassin's Creed 2. Not being able to play Far Cry 2 multiplayer anymore is kind of a shame, though. Then there's the co-op campaign for Splinter Cell Conviction. No more online support means you'll only be able to do the classic campaign with a friend via local co-op, something which isn't particularly easy to do right now in most countries.

"We are constantly assessing what's needed to deliver the best possible online services for Ubisoft's customers," Ubisoft explained in a statement. "Shutting the services for some older games with smaller online audiences is a necessary part of this process, since it allows our IT and service staff to better focus on delivering great online experiences to the vast majority of customers who are playing newer, more popular titles. Still, we don't take the decision to retire services for older Ubisoft games lightly, and we understand some of you may be disappointed by this news. "
