'Avengers: Endgame' Villain NoobMaster69's True Identity Finally Confirmed

Real Marvel fans know that the true villain of Avengers: Endgame wasn't really Thanos. Sure, he destroyed half of all life in the universe and left Earth's Mightiest Heroes desperate shells of their former selves, but there was someone much more sinister hiding in the shadows the entire time. I'm referring, of course, to NoobMaster69.

When we first meet Thor in Endgame, he's been absolutely destroyed by the events of Thor: Ragnarok and Avengers: Infinity War. His home is gone, half his people are dead, and he blames himself for allowing Thanos to snap his fingers and do what he did. He's a wreck, and has spent the last few years inside eating junk food, drinking beer, and playing video games in the dark.

While Thor might not have been at his most heroic during this period, he still had an arch enemy: NoobMaster69. This mysterious Fortnite player would cajole and harass Thor's friends Korg and Miek incessantly, prompting the God of Thunder to threaten to fly to his house and teach him a lesson unless he left the game. Truly, the stuff of epic battles.

We can assume Thor never actually knew who NoobMaster69 was, and that the threats of going to his house were completely empty. Unless NoobMaster69 wanted Thor to know where he lived, there'd be no way the Avenger could ever track him down solo. Not in the state he was in anyway. And so NoobMaster69 would remain a mystery to us all. Or so we thought.

As part of a new series of Xbox Game Pass promotions in partnership with upcoming Disney+ show Falcon And The Winter Soldier, we see Sam Wilson (AKA Falcon) in a video game store seeing what he's missed out on having been blipped out of existence for the last five years.

The video game store employee is only too happy to help Wilson out, offering Game Pass as the perfect way to catch up with the last few years of gaming action. He seems like a genuinely nice dude, until the final moments of the ad reveal that his video game alter-ego is none other than NoobMaster69. That right there is an Infinity War-level plot-twist.

Let's just hope Sam doesn't rat this guy out to Thor, eh?
