'Batman: Arkham Origins' Developer Tells Fans To Stay Tuned For News

Same Bat-time, same Bat-place.

Nearly eight months. That's how long developer Warner Bros. Montreal has been teasing its new project, which is widely believed to be the studio's first Batman game since 2013's Arkham Origins.

While WB Montreal has yet to confirm or deny whether or not its new game is in fact related to the Dark Knight, everyone has pretty much accepted that's what it is. Even before September last year kicked off months of cryptic symbols and teasers that were clearly linked to Batman, there were a number of convincing rumours and reports that suggested the studio were working on new game starring the Caped Crusader.

While the rumours and teasers were exciting at first... the longer it's gone on, the increasingly bored we've all become. As I said, we all know it's a Batman game at this stage. The lack of confirmation, or any kind of reveal trailer, has really just started to grate on fans. The good news is that WB Montreal took to Twitter last night to assure fans that news is coming, and that we should stay tuned.

A report published by Kotaku last month claimed that Warner Bros. had in fact been planning a massive E3 2020 press conference where it would've unveiled not only Batman, but the long-rumoured open-world Harry Potter game, too. E3 has since been cancelled thanks to current events, dashing our chances of seeing the new Batman game revealed at the LA show once and for all.

The good news is that like so many other developers and publishers, Warner Bros. is reportedly working on plans to showcase its games outside of E3. According to one leaker who took to Reddit last month, it sounds like the Batman reveal will still be going ahead at some point in June as planned.

If that's the case, it'd certainly make sense for WB. Montreal to ask the fans to stay tuned. My only issue at this stage is that we've waited so long and had such a drawn-out buildup to this reveal... I'm honestly not sure if it'll be able to deliver when we finally see it in action. I say this as someone who adores Batman and all of the Arkham games, by the way.

Then again, I think I'll just be so relieved once the game finally has a name and a trailer that I won't care about how long it took to get to this point. Let's all stay tuned and find out, shall we?
