With the official reveal of Battlefield 6 fast approaching, the rumour mill really has gone into overdrive. It's believed that we'll get a first look EA and DICE's upcoming shooter next month, with the full release expected towards the end of the year. With each new report, the latest Battlefield sounds absolutely wild.

Late last month, reliable leaker and industry insider Tom Henderson dropped a ton of information on the in-development shooter. Not so long ago, Henderson was suspended from Twitter and had all Battlefield 6 related videos taken down from his YouTube channel, so it's safe to assume that at least some of his sources are accurate.

Among other things, Henderson claimed at the time that the new game will simply be called Battlefield and that it'll be set ten years in the future. Expect all manner of drones, jets, helicopters, tanks, and other high-tech weapons, as well as a "revolutionary campaign" and multiplayer that was described as "Battlefield 3 on steroids".

Not content to leave us with this huge info dump, Henderson returned on April 1 to note that, "In Battlefield, explosions are not the only thing that can damage and topple buildings. Mother nature can do a whole lot more". He then shared images of a tsunami, a volcano, an earthquake, and a tornado, which of course implies that natural disasters will play a role in the upcoming game.

Given the date of the tweet, many were quick to assume that Henderson was pulling a little April Fool's joke on us all. Mercifully, he followed up a day later by retweeting his claim to clarify that it definitely wasn't a joke

Assuming this turns out to be true, I can't wait to play actual games of "The Floor Is Lava" while attempting to dodge snipers. That's the dream.
