‘Battlefield 6’ Is Sending Mysterious Messages To Influencers Ahead Of Reveal

The Battlefield Twitter account seems to be up to no good ahead of the first official Battlefield 6 reveal. Influencers are now getting direct messages from the game's account that are hinting at the premise for the next game in the FPS series, and we're all completely confused.

As VGC reports, the Battlefield account has been sending cryptic messages to other accounts to give them snippets of information hinting at the dark nature of the upcoming title. One of these messages was sent to Lirik on Twitter who provided the images to their followers. Other influencers followed, and now there is a full message reveal.

The entire message from Battlefield says:

Protocol: AB008117
Source: Quantum encrypted, long band radio broadcast
Target: "Oz", Alias Unknown
Interception Unit: USS Ravenrock - Naval Signal Corps
Date of Transmission: XXXX 01 04 3600 Hrs

Some of you want to return home. That most Human of all instincts. With a heavy heart, I must tell you the truth. You have no home to return to. The question we must ask ourselves now is: Do we accept our fate? Or do we dare to fight for a better world? No one may force you into battle but I say to all who can hear my voice, if you can fire a gun, if you can tend a wound, if you can cry havoc - those who cannot need you. We need you. War is the only way home.

Mysterious indeed. The year of the message is omitted, so it could be either a game set in the future or maybe the past. What has happened to the player's home? How will war help, and who are we fighting? A lot of our questions are set to be resolved on June 9, when we'll find out more with the release of the game's first trailer.
