There's not long left to wait for the official reveal of Battlefield 6, yet like curious children on the week before Christmas, gamers have gotten a glimpse of the new game through these leaked screenshots.

Electronic Arts and DICE have kept the lid tightly shut on the next entry into the Battlefield series, yet what the publisher has been willing to share has caught our attention. "Our next Battlefield experience will mark a return to all out military warfare," said Andrew Wilson, CEO of EA, earlier this year. "The game takes full advantage of the power of next generation platforms to bring massive immersive battles to life with more players than ever before... Featuring maps with unprecedented scale, the next edition of Battlefield takes all the destruction, player agency, vehicle and weapon combat that the franchise is known for and elevates it to another level... We will reveal the game in the spring and deliver a defining Battlefield experience for our players."

No matter what, we know that the new game is going to spice up the genre, and even come for Call Of Duty: Warzone's crown. Check out our compilation of wins and fails in the Battlefield series here.

In spite of the publisher and developer's best efforts, there has been a slow but steady drip of leaks emerging about the next Battlefield game. This latest slew of screenshots show the sheer spectacle that Battlefield 6 is promising, so I recommend taking a look for yourself through this link to the Imgur album. There's definitely a futuristic feel to these snaps, with that high tech and very unique-looking aircraft, but it's that dust cloud that has me intrigued. One leaker asserted that players would need to grapple with natural disasters occurring in the middle of battle, and a sandstorm would possibly count under that category.

However, we've got to consider the fact that one of these screenshots clearly says "pre-alpha footage," meaning that the Battlefield 6 that we see on June 9th might look a little different. Still, it is one more sneak peek and it is looking very enticing indeed to fans of the series. The next Battlefield game is on its way to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One and PC in holiday 2021.
