New Mass Effect Images Make Us Want The Game Sooner

The Mass Effect games are getting a remaster and we couldn't be more excited to jump back into Shepard's action-packed world when the time comes. Not only was it revealed that Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, and Mass Effect 3 were getting a rerelease, but BioWare also announced a new project on the way in the series.

After Andromeda didn't get the rave reception BioWare wanted, it's not a surprise that fans want more details on what development team is going to do to make this new entry better received. And so, here are some new concept images that show us what the team are going for this time with the space-age world.

First reported by Eurogamer, images popped up on a Tumblr account Felassan, concept art for the game looks glorious and also strangely distant from the vibe of the previous Mass Effect games. The first image is of what looks like a Mass Relay, a point at which ships like your Normandy could be catapulted to another part of space. Like the M25 but spacier. This, however, doesn't look like the normal mass relay's we know and love. This is lighter in colour and still in the process of being built. It certainly looks like a mass relay years after the ones from the original trilogy. The original structures are ancient - this looks far more up to date.

Then we have an image of structures which would well have come right out of the film Arrival. Towering over an area of land, these intimidating monoliths could be buildings or spaceships. It's hard to tell from this photo but it certainly looks a bit like Remnant technology.

And finally, we have a photo of a dusty planet with beings roaming the landscape. Somehow this picture, in particular, looks as if it's been pulled out of Star Wars artwork rather than BioWare's work, with the solitary sun in the distance and what found be scavengers in the foreground.

These concept images are gorgeous and although they tell us very little about the story to come, they're getting us interested in the next chapter of the Mass Effect story already.
