Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is celebrating the launch of the new Nuketown map with a double experience point event and a free goodie bag.

The map is set to unlock at 6.00pm today (GMT), though it won't be the one you remember from the original Black Ops, revealed ten years ago. It shares the same layout, so you won't be totally confused and clattering into walls that never used to be there. However, Treyarch has up-ended a couple of tubs of Dulux paints onto the map, and as a result, it's a lot more visually dynamic and exciting. "We wanted to flip it on its head from some of the last things that we've done in the last iterations, because we know player expectations are high," said creative specialist Miles Leslie.

"In this version of Nuketown - Nuketown '84 - it's actually a sister site to the original Nuketown. This place has been decommissioned and abandoned for 30 years. Travellers and people that want to escape come, and they're escaping that harsh world, that backdrop of the Cold War," he continued, and offered a short tour of its landmarks, like the town sign, the mannequins, the yellow house, and more. Though the map has evolved into the '80s, Leslie assured players that the "frenetic" experience and "fun engagements" of Nuketown are hardwired into this sister site.

The double experience point event extends til November 30th, and gives players two times the amount of experience earned in multiplayer matches as well as double weapon experience points. This will be a boon to those who want to spend time improving their loadouts or try out new ones without a daunting grind ahead of them. Moreover, the Nuketown Weapon Bundle is free to all players who logged in between November 13th and November 20th. It boasts ten exclusive items, including the "Last Stop" Epic Shotgun Blueprint, six weapon charms, a sticker, an emblem, and an "Omnibus" Calling Card. Cor.

This bundle will also be included with every purchase of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War between November 24th to December 4th, which is tidy. Also arriving with the Nuketown map and event is a small patch which addresses spawns in Hardpoint, Crossroads Strike and Armada Strike, and ensures that the Flak Jacket works as appropriate.
