In a multiplayer game, there aren't many worse feelings than realising you're outmatched just because someone has a certain weapon. You can sometimes play the best you've ever played but because your enemy has picked up an OP gun, you're finished in no time at all. What we're trying to say is, thank goodness the MP5 in Cold War has been nerfed.
Treyarch Studios announced on Twitter that the Submachine gun Alpha was getting nerfed which means fairer matchups in the future. The tweet reads, "Black Ops Cold War update: We've reduced the base effective damage range by 33% and adjusted the initial recoil for Submachine Gun Alpha. Now get out there and try the other four!"

Now get out there and try the other four! :punch:
Fans thought the gun was way too accurate for how high the fire rate was, even at long distances. Having a gun like that work at almost any range meant that there was barely enough time to get behind cover or retaliate if someone with an MP5 had their sights on you.
As PC Gamer points out there were certain situations where the MP5 was outplaying a sniper rifle which is, questionable when thinking of how each should play out. Fans on every platform have either talked about loving the gun because of how easy it makes kills for them, or hating it because they're the one getting killed.
Although Black Ops Cold War has only been out for a week, fans are already asking for changes to weapons and maps and more - people just want more variety these days. After the massive success, Modern Warfare and Warzone saw over the period of the Coronavirus lockdown, there were high expectations placed on Black Ops Cold War. We quite like it, as we say in our Cold War review
