Odenkirk, who plays the titular criminal lawyer Saul Goodman in the excellent Breaking Bad prequel series, collapsed on the Albuquerque set yesterday and was immediately rushed to hospital. Just a few hours ago the 58-year-old actor's son, Nate Odenkirk, assured concerned fans on Twitter that he was "going to be okay". An official statement has also been released.

"We can confirm Bob is in stable condition after experiencing a heart-related incident," Odenkirk's reps added. "He and his family would like to express gratitude for the incredible doctors and nurses looking after him, as well as his cast, crew and producers who have stayed by his side. The Odenkirks would also like to thank everyone for the outpouring of well wishes and ask for their privacy at this time as Bob works on his recovery."

Following the news of Odenkirk's collapse, it felt as if the entire internet was holding its breath as it awaited an update - any update - on the health of the comedy titan. Breaking Bad stars Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul both shared their own tributes to the actor on Instagram. Longtime friend and collaborator David Cross also shared his own message of support on Twitter, assuring fans that Odenkirk would get through this.

"Bob is someone we have known and been lucky enough to work with for a long time. The immediate outpouring of affection and concern from fans around the world is a clear reflection of his immense talents and ability to both move and entertain people," AMC said in its own statement Wednesday night. "Like everyone else, we are so grateful to know he is in stable condition and receiving excellent care. We are holding him close in our thoughts and wishing for a fast and full recovery."
