'Borderlands 3' Announces Halloween-Themed In-Game Event Called 'Bloody Harvest'

Borderlands 3 has been out for just over a week now, and Vault Hunters around the world are still merrily exploring new worlds, shooting enemies in the face with ridiculously-named guns, and looting yet more ridiculously-named guns from the bodies of the enemies they'd just shot in the face. People are also busy arguing over whether the game's juvenile sense of humour is annoying or not, because apparently pointing out that jokes about farting and out of date internet memes are kind of dumb makes you deeply insightful. Who knew?

Anyway, while Borderlands 3 players continue to do their thing, developer Geabox has been busy detailing its future plans for the loot-shooter, starting with a Halloween-themed event that'll start rolling out in time for the incredibly spooky month of October. This first limited-time event for Borderlands 3 will be called Bloody Harvest (solid name) and will offer a special new mission, new guns, and a new debuff.

The new details come from Borderlands 3 Creative Director Paul Sage, who appeared on the new official monthly Borderlands 3 show to talk about the event, as well as discuss a number of impending hotfixes. You can check out the entire show for yourself below, if you're interested in that kind of thing.

Bloody Harvest will of course be a free event that;s available for all Borderlands 3 players who have left Pandora and have access to Sanctuary III. Look out for a Saurian by the name of Maurice (sure), who'll be on hand in Sanctuary to act as a new guide for seasonal events in the game and point you in the direction of whatever new missions or features said event might offer.

In the case of Bloody Harvest, you'll be able to embark on a cool-sounding new event mission to a new location called Heck (seriously) in which you'll have to deal with haunted enemies, led by a brilliantly-named boss called Captain Haunt. These strange foes are able to apply the new "terror" debuff, which will affect your character's ability to aim, and will also impair your vision, so it sounds like you'll need to keep your wits about you - at least until you come across one of the new "anointed" attachments, which negate the effect of terror and make it work to your advantage.

Sage confirmed that we can expect Bloody Harvest in late October, which presumably means as close to Halloween as possible. I for one and am positively thrilled at the prospect of going to Heck to fight Captain Haunt, and I can only imagine what ridiculousness Gearbox has planned for the Christmas period.
