'Borderlands' Cast Assemble In First Look At Upcoming Movie

We're now in a bit of a golden era of video game films, don't you think? As the popularity of nerd culture reached a high with Marvel's epic cinematic universe, Hollywood looked around to see if there were any other beloved IPs they could ahem, benefit from, too. We've got the upcoming Uncharted film, season two of The Witcher, the newly released Mortal Kombat film, and we've also got the Borderlands film on the way too. And we've just had our first look at the cast.

An Instagram post from famed comedian Kevin Hart shows a bunch of the actors who will be leading the Borderlands film together for the first time. Though they're not in costume or on a recognisable set yet, you can see them embodying the characters they're about to play.

One of the most iconic parts of the Borderlands series is its cell-shaded style - and that happens to look incredible modded onto CDPR's Cyberpunk 2077 too. Check it out:

We've got a huge line up of stars in the picture. Of course, there is the aforementioned Kevin Hart who will be playing Roland, but we've also got Cate Blanchett who will be taking on the role of powerful resistance fighter Lilith. Jamie Lee Curtis will be Dr. Patricia Tannis, Florian Munteanu is playing Krieg and Eli Roth who is directing the whole thing are posing too. Also present in the photo is the young Ariana Greenblatt who is playing Tiny Tina - an actress you might recognise as young Gamora in the MCU.

And though he's not present in the photo, also tagged is the wonderful Jack Black who will be taking on the role of rolling robot Claptrap. I guess when your entire role is a voice-over you're not going to be needed on set so much, huh? But it's nice he's been included in the list of stars anyway. Thanks, Comicbook!
