Fresh reports are suggesting that Call Of Duty 2020 (heavily rumoured to be a return to the Black Ops storyline) is going to include four fan-favourite maps from across the Black Ops franchise.

According to the rather-well-known leaker LongSensation, who's currently posting from a secondary account due to a ban (thanks CharlieIntel), the upcoming Call Of Duty 2020 will indeed include maps from the Black Ops era.

LongSensation (aka _TomHenderson_) reckons that as many as four maps from the original franchise could appear in the game as remasters, alongside a host of new places for players to do battle. So what are the maps? Well, we think we know that, too.

Nuketown, Jungle, Firing Range and Summit are all believed to be returning. Now, Nuketown isn't exactly a surprise - there's been an iteration of it in almost every Black Ops title, after all - but the other three should provide some welcome nostalgia for fans, too.

There's also the suggestion that the upcoming game will not ship with its own version of a battle royale mode, and the hugely popular Call of Duty: Warzone will be made available from the game's menu for interested parties.

Now, as with all rumours, you'll want to take this with a pinch of salt, but there is some credence in this one. Let's review the evidence.

First up is the rather persistent belief that Call Of Duty 2020 is indeed a full reboot of the Black Ops franchise called Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. No points for originality with that name. This rumour has been corroborated by sites such as Eurogamer, who say their sources in the know about the game's production can vouch for it.

Second is the fact that Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare drip-fed fans a selection of classic maps like Shipment and Crash, which rapidly became more popular than the new maps released with the game. Naturally their success would encourage Activision to stop goofing around and give these to fans on day one. Here's hoping, though, that they won't be stuck behind a paywall or bundled as some kind of pre-order exclusive.

Activision, for their part, have not confirmed anything about the game's title or content, only going so far as to say that it's "looking great" and is "on track for release". If recent memory serves, rumours with this much corroborating evidence are rarely wrong in the case of COD, but we'll know for certain when the game is officially announced, usually around this time every year.
