'Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War' Zombies Reveal Drops This Week

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare, as I'm sure you recall, never actually had a zombies mode. Infinity Ward said at the time that their vision for Call Of Duty was basically too authentic and gritty to allow for hordes of undead monsters to suddenly start pouring through the cracks.

I always considered that a shame. As great as Modern Warfare was, I always longed for the groans of a decaying corpse to cut through the air as a zombie started to shamble towards me and my friends. Since 2008, zombies have been a pretty core part of the whole Call of Duty experience. It's also, I think, one of the few concessions fans are willing to make in a world that would otherwise like to be as realistic as possible.

Great news then, as Activision and Treyarch have confirmed we'll be getting our first look at the all-new Black Ops Cold War zombies mode tomorrow (September 30th). Tune into the official Call Of Duty YouTube channel at 6pm BST to learn more about this latest zombie outbreak.

If you can't quite wait till tomorrow, Charlie Intel reports that some especially keen fans have already managed to uncover an incredibly violent and disturbing first-look at a new mode. It's only seven seconds long, but it certainly does the job.

Meanwhile, industry insider Tom Henderson claims that Black Ops Cold War zombies will take players back to Nacht der Untoten. Yes, that is the very first map that Treyarch used to introduce zombies all the way back in 2008's Call Of Duty: World At War. Yes, old-school zombies fans are very excited about this particular rumour.

According to Henderson, Russians have returned to the abandoned Nazi facility for some shady dealings, and it's not long at all before the place is overrun with infected Nazi and Russian forces. It also sounds like a few old WWII weapons have remained on-site, which means one or two classic World At War guns could be about to make a return.

In other spooky Call Of Duty news, Activision recently announced a Halloween event for Modern Warfare and Warzone. The Haunting Of Verdansk will run from October 20th to November 3rd, and feature a handful of limited-time modes and special rewards. Very scary indeed.
