The latest update to Call Of Duty: Warzone came with one more surprise than we'd bargained for. The locked bunkers dotted around the map, which have been a source of mystery since the game launched back in March, finally started to open. Inside, players have discovered rare loot, more locked doors, and even more mysteries.
While we can't officially get behind the new locked doors just yet, the always-alert Call Of Duty community has already managed to glitch through and discover an even larger underground facility. Take a look for yourself below at what appears to be some kind of war room, and a nuclear missile. Deeply unsettling.
It's not entirely clear what all of this means, but a mysterious morse code message certainly suggests that the bunkers are Russian owned. What's even more interesting is that fans have discovered multiple references to the Black Ops series as part of the latest update.

Players first noticed a message tucked away at the bottom of the patch notes for the latest update, which they believe hints at what's to come. The thinking is that it's referencing the numbers station from the first Black Ops, which was set during the Cold War, potentially pointing to the time period for 2020's Call Of Duty. This would line up with previous reports that claimed the next Call Of Duty would be a Cold War-era adventure, and possibly a sequel/prequel/reboot of the Black Ops series.
But the plot thickens further. One fan has been rummaging through the files of the latest update to see what else might be lurking in the bunkers. They discovered an RC-XD (a remote-controlled car loaded with explosives), and a U-2 plane. For those who don't know, this kind of US military aircraft was predominately used during the Cold War.
Why would there be a Cold War-era plane hiding in the files for a Modern Warfare spinoff? It seems to me that something substantial is going to happen in the battle royale soon, and it'll more than likely tie in with whatever the 2020 Call Of Duty game ends up being.

Earlier this month a reliable Call Of Duty leaker claimed that Warzone would eventually be getting a new, Cold War-inspired map that links up with the next premium title. Between mysterious Russian bunkers, nuclear warheads and US spy planes, I'd say that's looking more and more likely.
