Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare continues to roll on like the unstoppable juggernaut it is, and developer Infinity Ward has confirmed a little more of the content that'll be rolling out as part of its Season 3 content plan. As previously teased by the studio, the fan-favourite map Hardhat will still be arriving in time for Season 3.

Infinity Ward originally confirmed that Hardhat, which first appeared in Modern Warfare 3, would be part of the new game's third season back in April. But as Season 3 has continued, fans have started to wonder exactly when - if at all - the classic map would be making its return.

Fortunately, Infinity Ward's multiplayer director Joe Cecot took to Twitter to allay any fears and confirm to those concerned that Hardhat would be a "mid-season" update. While we don't know exactly when Season 3 is expected to end, the general consensus seems to be that Season 4 will arrive in early June. That would mean Hardhat has to drop in the next week or so, if not imminently.

In other Call Of Duty news,Infinity Ward has been busy teasing its plans for Modern Warfare's battle royale spinoff Warzone. The free-to-play game will kick of its fourth season at the same time as Modern Warfare, and the developer has suggested a number of long-running mysteries will be resolved as new questions are asked and new playable operators join the fight.

"Players have already discovered that there is a whole other part of Verdansk they haven't seen yet," narrative director Taylor Kurosaki revealed in an interview with GamerGen. "They have found clues, and that there is more than meets the eye in this city. Season 4 will unravel some of those mysteries and unlock some of them for our players."

This news comes just days after Activision confirmed the battle royale had surpassed 60 million players. Even more impressive is that Modern Warfare has already managed to become the most successful Call Of Duty of all time. Both in terms of player numbers and revenue.

No doubt Activision is already looking to the future and is putting plans in place to reveal Call Of Duty 2020. Modern Warfare was first revealed this time last year, so expect to hear something about the next "premium" installment in the next few weeks.
