The latest patch for Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare went live this morning, May 19th, at 7am in the UK, and developer Infinity Ward has outlined everything that's coming to the shooter across PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
It's a pretty substantial offering this week, I have to say. Clocking in at 20.2GB on PS4, 31GB on Xbox One, and 30GB on PC, you might want to start installing it as soon as it goes live tomorrow morning. I don't presume to know how fast your internet is, but that kind of file size will definitely take a bite out of my broadband.
If you've the space and time to get it installed, however, you'll find yourself with a fair amount of new content. There are two new maps to get stuck into this week. The first is Hardhat, the deadly construction site fans will know and love from Modern Warfare 3. We'll be able to revisit this classic as part of a variety of 6v6 modes. Meanwhile, the cramped Aisle-9 map will be making its debut in the small-scale Gunfight mode.

"Hardhat is a haven for close quarters, fast-paced, and frenetic combat," Activision wrote in a blog post. "But also features some longer sightlines, so a variety of loadout types can find success. Re-experience Hardhat or jump in for the first time to learn the ins and outs of the map, and hopefully achieve victory in your next match."
"Aisle 9, the latest Gunfight map, is available in its own unique playlist - 'Clean Up on Aisle 9'", the publisher continued. "The 3v3 playlist will host TDM, Kill Confirmed, Grind, and Domination, so players can discover multiple ways to fight on this small map. Aisle 9 will also be playable in the Gunfight map rotation, so stock up for a fight."
The new update is also introducing "Modified Special Operations". Infinity Ward explains that this will give players the chance to replay existing Operations "with a twist". This could mean enemies are more aggressive, or maybe they can only be taken down with headshots. Each week will introduce new twists on the missions, so keep checking back.

Elsewhere, the free-to-play spinoff Warzone is getting a decent chunk of new content. In addition to a new Armor Box item and more weapons to use in the Gulag, we're also getting a Classic Battle Royale mode. In this stripped down mode, players will have to drop into Verdansk and fight with no cash, loadout drops, buy stations, or the chance to respawn from the Gulag. Sounds intense.
