Sniping is one of the most valuable skills in Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare, but such long-range tactics are not for the faint of heart. Getting the most out of a sniper rifle in Infinity Ward's shooter requires a steady aim, patience, and a willingness to take shots that other players might have assumed were impossible.
I take my hat off MattyTSquared, then. As documented on Reddit, the intrepid player aimed his scope skyward, fired at an incoming missile, and... destroyed it before it could reach the ground. It's one of the most impressive things I've seen in Modern Warfare the entire time the game has been out, especially since I didn't even know you could shoot missiles out of the sky. Obviously it's not something you'll see in the game every day, given the incredible speed at which the projectiles move.

While MattyTSquared didn't bag any kind of experience for his incredible shot - which is a damn shame - you can clearly see from the explosion that the bullet collided with the missile. Obviously everybody wants to know exactly how this particular sniper managed it, but it seems to have come down to sheer boredom and just a dash of luck.
"It's probably the third or fourth one I ever shot at," they explained in the Reddit thread. "Was working on obsidian for the launchers and just got bored with waiting for my ammo box."
MattyTSquared also isn't entirely sure what kind of missile it was, but others in the thread suggested it was probably a JOKR as it flew upwards before arcing down at the target. There you go then. Next time you're feeling like an absolute badass, you might want to try pulling out your sniper rifle and having a pop at the first missile you see. Sure, you could get blown up... but you miss 100% of the shots you don't take, am I right?
