Call Of Duty has finally, officially taken a stance on campers - and it has not held back.
Campers, as I'm sure you know, are the kinds of players that will typically grab a decent long-range weapon, find a point of strategic value, and "camp" there while they wait for unsuspecting players to pass through their line of fire. Personally I've always found this to be a perfectly valid tactic. We have snipers in actual real-life wars, so why wouldn't a sniper in a game wait patiently somewhere high-up for the right chance to strike?
Of course not everyone sees it the same way. Many regard campers as people who aren't playing the game properly, or aren't good enough to get stuck into the thick of a fight. It's a debate that has raged on for years - but now Call Of Duty has taken a side.

Take a look at some of the best Call Of Duty wins and fails below!
Call Of Duty: Warzone recently unveiled its Halloween event for this year, which is a smart evolution of last year's Zombie Royale mode. This time around, however, we'll be fighting off ghosts and managing a fear meter. The higher the fear meter ticks up, the more players will start to hallucinate. Obviously you'll want to keep it nice and low.
In a blog post, Activision explained some of the things that will contribute to a fear meter creeping up. This includes seeing your teammates killed, spotting ghosts, or taking damage. Incredibly, it looks like camping will also lead to an increase of the old fear meter.

While this is obviously to encourage more aggressive play during the mode, Call Of Duty went one step further by referring to camping as "cowardice". I think that paints a pretty clear picture of how the game feels about you campers, eh?
Call Of Duty: Warzone's new Haunting event is available to play now. Just remember not to be a cowar- I mean, a camper.
