'Call Of Duty: Warzone' Game-Breaking Glitch Is Blinding Players

'Call Of Duty: Warzone' Game-Breaking Glitch Is Blinding Players

Blinded by the light.

It's a new day, and Call Of Duty: Warzone is back at it with yet another - potentially game-breaking - glitch. This latest bug seems to be impacting multiplayer lobbies, stopping players from entering the game, presenting them with blacked-out screens, and flat-out breaking the experience for some of the players able to find a workaround.

The glitch was first documented by Starcinarvin69 over on Reddit, and it shows the start of a Warzone match where players begin their descent into Verdansk. While everything sounds as if it's running normally, and the HUD shows up as it should, the rest of the screen - ie, the environment and all the players - have been completely blacked-out. Hitting the map button seems to bring everything back, but returning instantly plunges the player into darkness again.

See for yourself below. As Starcinarvin69 points out, Infinity Ward maybe took Night Mode a little too seriously.

While it's not clear how widespread this issue is right now (I couldn't replicate it), others in the comments on Starcinarvin69's post claim to have had the same issue. Numerous players are reporting that the issue doesn't actually stop until they drop out of the game entirely, which is less than ideal. Another player said they could see everything as long as they were driving in a vehicle, but that very much limited what they could in the game to ferrying mates around like a taxi.

"I got the totally black screen," wrote HoneyBadgrrr. Managed to land without dying, used the mini map to run to an ATV, clicked until I got in it and by a strange plot twist... I could see fine as long as I was on the ATV. I basically just played Uber driver the entire game."

We don't yet know what triggers this glitch or which modes it can appear in the most, but right now players seem to agree that it can strike anywhere at anytime. Even this isn't affecting that many people, a handful of people being made to leave a game because the screen has gone black is too many people.

No word yet from Infinity Ward if it's aware of the issue, but hopefully a fix comes sooner rather than later and we can all get on with our lives. Until the next glitch, obviously.
