'Call of Duty: Warzone' Player Finds Unreleased Pistol While In-Game

The Sykov seems scary

We're used to players, data miners, and modders going through game files to find unreleased content in games all the time. That's normal - a completely average day on Reddit for us. But what we're not used to seeing is a player managing to obtain an unreleased pistol while just using the systems in-game. But that's what's happened to one Call of Duty: Warzone player.

Spotted by Eurogamer, Reddit user RestlessGoats managed to get a hold of the new Sykov pistol in Call of Duty: Warzone through using the weapon drops in Plunder. Safe to say that this isn't how it's supposed to work yet - officially the gun isn't available in Warzone although everyone thinks it's on its way shortly.

RestlessGoats says that they managed to find the Sykov in the Plunder mode through an upgrade. Normally the pistol should only be available in Modern Warfare's Survival mode, which is where you and up to three mates fight against waves upon waves of enemies. You know your average endless enemies situation where you just have to fight to survive for as long as you possibly can.

According to the specs from the Survival mode, the Sykov can become fully automatic and can be dual-wielded if you have the Akimbo perk active too. And that's with 80 rounds a gun. If those specs are going to follow the gun into Warzone, well, we can't help but think a nerf would be in order.

Raven Software and Infinity Ward are going to have to keep a close eye on this one when then pistol lands in Warzone. They've already had their hands full with nerfs when new weapons land every so often. Remember the Mac 10? Or the DMR 14? Oh and remember the issues with players blowing themselves up with faulty C4? Yeah, Activision is no stranger to Warzone having a few issues here and there so we're ready for the potential release of the Sykov to be a little messy.
