'Call Of Duty: Warzone' Players Are Seriously Divided Over Bunker Campers

'Call Of Duty: Warzone' Players Are Seriously Divided Over Bunker Campers

Where do you stand?

The latest issue to divide Call Of Duty: Warzone players is entirely to do with the game's mysterious bunkers, which were recently made accessible. Specifically, players have started camping just outside the new areas, waiting to pick off any foes that might be trying to get inside.

Why is this such a problem among fans? Well, for those that might not play the battle royale every day, it's not actually all that easy to open one of the bunkers yourself. Bunker 11, in particular, involves following a number of convoluted steps to access the prizes within.

If you actually do manage to get everything you need to do to get inside any of the bunkers without getting gunned down by the enemy teams roaming the map, you've more than earned the loot waiting inside, right? That's why a ton of Warzone players are seriously annoyed at the fact there are campers who literally spend the majority of the game waiting by bunkers to pick off anyone who's put the legwork in, before taking the contents of a bunker for themselves.

We reported on how an increasing number of players had started doing this last week, once the bunkers first opened. However, it now seems to have become a genuine issue in the eyes of a lot of the community, with some arguing that it's not in the spirit of the game at all.

"Doing the Warzone Easter egg is toxic," said redditor Austsin (thanks, Eurogamer). "Now that everybody knows about the Bunker 11 Easter egg and how to do it, nobody can do it. There's so many bunker campers, phone campers, and other teams trying to do the same thing you are. It makes sense but it is frustrating."

"To the people who camp Bunker 11," added redditor REAVRx. "F*ck you. You do not deserve the weapon blueprint. There are people hard at work trying game after game hour after hour to get the prize they deserve. Shame on you."

"You people that sit at the bunker waiting for someone to open it," said redditor mikemgandy, "someone who went around and actually did the work. You buys [sic] need to be banned you ruin the experience for everyone."

While obviously frustrating and more than a little underhand, others have argued that if you're playing a game called Warzone, you should maybe probably expect this kind of stuff. After all, the entire point of the game is to kill everybody else and win. I suppose if you know people are going to be headed to one particular spot in an attempt to get some powerful gear, it makes sense to wait there and take them out as they come.

By the same token, perhaps players with the intention of unlocking a bunker should go in expecting resistance at this point? Stay frosty - it's a battle royale, and some areas will always be hotter than others.
