Halloween game updates are almost always fun. Perhaps they're entirely new game modes or perhaps it's gruesome new skins for you to dress up your characters in. It's all about getting in the mood for some classic hijinks. However, for Call of Duty Warzone players, the game's Halloween theme has gone a step too far.
As reported by Dexerto, some Warzone players are upset at the level of intrusiveness the Halloween animations are having on gameplay. Players are being killed in situations where animations appear on screen. Attempting to distract players, but sometimes even covering the entire screen for a duration leading to unfair fights where one player is essentially blinded.

Posts and videos have popped up on places like Reddit, showing how hugely frustrating a badly timed animation can be. The one called "Thank you Activision for making this very fun game mode. These animations are not annoying at all" shows how instantaneously it leaves a player vulnerable.
Of course, this is sort of the point of the animations in the first place. The intention is to annoy you, but it looks like players are mostly annoyed because of how random they can be and with very little control on when they happen, again leaving them vulnerable to enemy attacks.
Additionally, players think that the animations look cheap, one player under the Reddit video above says: "The worst part is how low quality the animation is. Why is there some sh*tty bowling-alley style graphic going on?"
Well, they're here to stay until Halloween passes. Players will just have to deal with the animations in certain modes until then, unless Activision decides to change them.
