'Call Of Duty: Warzone' Season 5 Trailer Teases Larger Squads

Five alive.

The Call Of Duty community is convinced that five-player squads are coming to Call Of Duty: Warzone. The latest trailer for the game's Season 5 update contains a particularly intriguing hint that suggests the increased squad numbers will be introduced when the substantial new patch goes live on August 5th.

Currently, the battle royale supports solos, duos, trios, and quads, though there have been many requests from the fans for Infinity Ward to introduced five-player squads. A still from the Season 5 trailer has started doing the rounds on Reddit suggesting that Infinity Ward has heard these requests. As you can see below, the scene in which Shadow Company blow the roof off of Verdansk Stadium appears to show five people riding together in one helicopter.

While this could simply have been part of the cinematic, fans are inclined to believe that there's a little more to it than that. Given that it's currently impossible to put five players in a single chopper, it's curious that we'd see that many cruising around the skies of Verdansk together just as Season 5 is about to drop.

Assuming this is a tease for five-player squads and not just a inconvenience, exactly how will the new mode fit into Warzone? Will it sit alongside solos, duos, trios, and quads - or will it appear as a limited-time mode, like the 50v50 Warzone Rumble? Hopefully we'll find out for sure when the Season 5 update drops.

For now, players are divided over whether or not a five-player squad would be a little bit much for the battle royale. Some are willing to give the idea a chance, while others wonder if it would end up throwing matches into absolute chaos.

"Could be fun, but I also kind of dread it?" Deckard_2049 writes. "I think the game works best in trios. In quads it's frustrating to wipe teams especially when they all have self revives, satchels and armor box. And I swear in quads the quitters are real bad, as soon as people lose their gulag they drop. I could see a lot of firefights that end up 1v5 or 2v5."

"5 man might be a lil too much imo," adds Stopa_16. "But if it creates fun for others then that's good for the game's community."

Season 5 of Call Of Duty: Warzone and Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare will drop tomorrow with a pretty sizable patch, so make sure you've cleared space on your platform of choice.
