Season 5 of Call Of Duty: Warzone and Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare is live now, and there's a lot to sink our teeth into. You know, once you've gotten the absolutely massive install out of the way. 36GB on PlayStation 4, 49.8GB on Xbox One, and 54.2GB/47.4GB depending on whether you own Modern Warfare or just Warzone.

Once you've gotten that pesky necessity out of the way, you can take a look at today's update, which introduces a brand-new Operator, new Battle Pass, and new Store bundles for players to check out. You can also take a peek at the full Season 5 roadmap below for an idea of everything that's coming as part of Season 5, but we're mostly focused on what you play today for the moment.

If you've been following the months of rumours, leaks, and teases, you won't be too surprised to see the two biggest changes to the Verdansk map in Warzone. The battle royale's massive stadium is finally opening up thanks to a collapsed roof, and a train is set to run through the map to add new twists to gameplay.

"Retool your strategy and rethink your drop plans around this massive super-structure," Activision wrote. "Complete with a pitch surrounded by rows of seating, an additional underground parking structure, a concession stand lobby and multiple interior concourses and field access you can secure and compete to control."

Activision also revealed how exactly the train will function in Warzone, and it sounds like it could be one of the most hotly contested spots in the game going forward.

"The station buildings feature a number of inside locations to explore," the publisher explained. "All linked to the main ticket hall and platforms. This significantly changes the overall look, feel, and tactical outlook in and around this area of the Warzone map.

"Rolling through one of the main arterial railroad tracks that circumnavigates the southwestern part of Verdansk in a large loop, the largest and heftiest vehicle yet seen can be a source of protection, an epicenter of firefights, and even offers some exceptional takedown potential if your team claims the train for themselves, and guards it with additional vehicles and heavy weaponry."

Warzone will also gets a brand-new mode called Mini Royale, which does exactly what it says on the tin. This is basically a more condensed experience with fewer players and less circles. Basically, you drop and don't ever really stop moving till it's over. This joins the usual raft of modes, including BR Solos, Duos, Trios, and Quads.

As for Modern Warfare, Season 5 is introducing a handful of new maps for you to get stuck into. There's Petrov Oil Rig (6v6); Suldal Harbor (6v6); Verdansk International Airport (Ground War); and Livestock (2v2 Gunfight). There's also a new operator in the form of Lurch from Shadow Company, who you can get for purchasing the Battle Pass. He's joined by two new weapons: the ISO (SMG), which you'll get at Tier 15, and the AN - 94 (ARG) at Tier 31.

Finally, Infinity Ward has rolled out the usual fixes and tweaks in the interests of balancing the gameplay. There's a lot to go through - none of it particularly that interesting. If you do want to see absolutely everything that's being changed, you can check out the full patch notes right here.
