Call Of Duty: Warzone is once again ditching the popular 50v50 Rumble mode to bring Duos Stimulus back into the fold. Infinity Ward and Activision announced the change to the battle royale playlist alongside details on all of the other new and returning modes, cosmetic items, and features.
As detailed in Activision's This Week in Call of Duty blog post, Battle Royale Solos, Trios, Duos, Quads, and Plunder Quads are to remain in the game, with Rumble making way for Duos Stimulus in time for this weekend (July 24th).
If you missed it the first time it was in the battle royale, Duos Stimulus is a pretty interesting take on the game which closes the Gulag. This means that when players die, they aren't sent to the infamous prison to duke it out for a chance to return to the map. Instead, they simply respawn and return to the game automatically... provided they're carrying enough cash. As long as you're carrying the dosh, you can keep coming back for what Activision describes as a "frenetic" mode.
Activision also confirmed the usual raft of new cosmetics as part of the incoming update, including two new bundles: Racing Series: Mach, and Earth Expeditionary Force.
"Get a new look for Charly with the 'Earth Expeditionary Force' bundle," Activision wrote. "Dressed for a tactical exploration of the beyond, don 'The Outrider' skin and move quickly with the Legendary Colonial Standard LMG. The bundle also contains a watch, weapon charm, calling card, and emblem.
"Get your game in gear with the 'Racing Series: Mach 8' bundle," the publisher continued. "This racer-inspired bundle features red tracer blueprints the Autoclave SMG and Winner's Circle Handgun and two vehicle skins to help you keep track of your ride in Warzone. Plus, get the 'Start Your Engines' vehicle horn that blares a race countdown sound."
Finally, we can expect a few changes to playlists over on Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare. Shoot the Ship 24/7, 3v3 Gunfight Snipers Only, and Reinfected Ground War are all back in the mix, so there should be enough there to keep players happy.
It's certainly not the biggest or most exciting update that we've ever seen from the game... but with Season 5 a matter of weeks away, you can bet Infinity Ward is saving its biggest surprises till then. For instance, we've already seen a teaser that confirms loot trains are coming to Verdansk, and... yes. I am all about that.
