Infinity Ward has just released a new weapons patch for Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call Of Duty: Warzone. While most of the changes are minor tweaks to better balance out the FPS and its battle royale spinoff, some substantial - and much-needed - changes have been made to one of the game's most powerful weapons: The Bruen MK9.
The Bruen was added to the game back in April during Season 3, and quickly became one of the popular long range weapons in Warzone. Despite being an LMG, the right attachments would quickly transform the gun into an incredibly accurate and mobile weapon with the reload time of an assault rifle - all while maintaining its raw power.
The most recent update has now gone some way towards taking the Bruen down a peg or two, significantly decreasing the weapon's damage range. While Infinity Ward hasn't specified exact changes in terms of raw numbers, dataminers calculate that the gun has seen a 36% damage range reduction. Now that is what I call a nerf.
Infinity Ward has also made some changes to the FAL assault rifle, increasing headshot damage and reducing close-range damage, making it more effective at longer range while nerfing its close-range capabilities.
Elsewhere, the near damage and ADS speed of the M91 has been buffed, as has the damage range and ADS speed of the Holger-26. Infinity Ward senior communication manager Ashton Williams has also confirmed that a second patch will be dropping soon to address the bizarre weapon texture glitch that has been terrifying and entertaining players in equal measure.
The second one fixes the graphical corruption issue with weapons, the 'Play Again' option not working, and more. I don't have an ETA just yet, but we'll share more details when we're all set.

In other Call Of Duty news, Activision is finally gearing up to unveil the 2020 instalment, and it seems as if the big reveal will take place within Warzone. Numerous players have reported that their matches have been interrupted at random intervals by a scrambled message, clearly intended to serve as a teaser for the incoming Call Of Duty 2020 reveal.
The message, which appears on screen for a few seconds before disappearing, reads "know your history". It's widely believed that this is in reference to the upcoming game's rumoured Cold War setting. Hopefully we don't have to wait much longer until we find out for sure.
