I'd hope this probably goes without saying for most of you reading this, but "swatting" is just about one of the stupidest and most dangerous things you can do to another person.
For those that might not be familiar with the term, swatting involves calling the emergency services - usually armed police - to a person's address under the false claim of criminal activity. The victim will be entirely unaware of what's about to happen, and will answer the door to officers with guns who believe that someone at the address is in danger.
Swatting is, of course, a criminal offence. People have died as a result of swatting, and people have gone to jail for the parts they played in taking someone's life from them. In a recent video that aims to shed a little more light on the situation, Call Of Duty YouTuber Brad "Drif0r" Overbey has shared a new video in which he recounts the time he nearly died because someone decided to swat him.

In the video titled "Low Testosterone almost killed me," (thanks, GameSpot), Overbey explained that multiple swattings in 2019 and 2020 did nothing to help his struggle with low testosterone. He said that he almost died at least four or five times as armed police approached his home.
"I got swatted a couple of times last year," Overbey said, around 12-minute mark. "There was an ongoing issue with harrassment. Another creator streamed one of his fans coming to my house with a ski mask and a gun in what I personally assumed was going to be an armed home invasion. Police took care of that in my front lawn, thankfully. And just a whole ton of crazy, bizarre stuff. I almost died four of five times. There were other people that were armed."
In another harrowing account, Overbey described a so-called prank that involved someone attempting to get him to kill an escort as part of a "break-in fantasy". He could only describe these attacks as "constant violence" against his family.

"Basically, for the better part of a year there was constant violence against me and my family," he said. "I worked super hard to keep it private and off of YouTube. I mean, it was like 'sleep with your AK-47 every single night' kind of situation. But finally, some of the bad people got arrested."
Overbey added that all trials pertaining to this continued harassment have now concluded, which means he can talk about it in more detail. He suggested he may talk more about what he went through in a later video.
