'Call Of Duty: Vanguard' Announces Big Reveal For The Exact Same Time As 'Battlefield 2042'

Do I sense, a little competitiveness Activision? I mean, that may be a silly question seeing as you've just announced a reveal at the same time as Battlefield 2042, but I still feel the need to ask. The rival first-person shooters are set to release two huge games by the end of the year and now it seems that tensions are rising as they're going to go head-to-head on October 14th with their own reveals.

As ScreenRant reports, the Call of Duty Twitter account has teased the reveal of Call of Duty Vanguard's Zombies mode. The series has a long-running love-hate relationship with the undead which is only going to continue in this new title. And the Nazi zombies are back too, it seems. The tweet simply says: "Zombies + Dark Aether + Demons!? Vanguard is bringing one of your favourite modes with a sinister twist. Oct 14th 8 AM PT. See you there."

Here is the multiplayer trailer for Call of Duty: Vanguard...

Well, what obviously isn't mentioned here is that Battlefield 2042 is set to have its very own reveal on exactly that date and at that time. EA's shooter is set to reveal its Hazard Zone mode which, according to the original report, is similar to Escape From Tarkov. Players land on a map with their own gear and are tasked with infiltrating, collecting, and extracting valuable pieces of new kit. If you die, well whatever you've collected is lost as well as the gear you brought in.

It's definitely a contrast to whatever Call of Duty has up its sleeve but it'll be very interesting to see how each fanbase reacts. There is so much potential for either mode, but it does feel like the very beginning of the ongoing popularity test between the franchises. We can't wait to see how it all plays out tomorrow.
