After three delays and years of hype, Cyberpunk 2077 is finally, finally almost here. It's been a long road with some highs and lows but soon we'll be able to experience CD Projekt Red's next massive project after The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. As with any triple-A release, however, there is going to be a hefty day one patch, and Cyberpunk is no different.

First reported by GameRant, an image of an update screen has appeared on Twitter with mention of how big an update the game has once the release comes around. The screen says, "Cyberpunk 2077 needs an update. The size of the update is around 43.5 GB..." revealing to us that, wow, the day one patch is pretty big.

Day one patches are required for big projects as after a game is completed and printed on discs, the development team continue to work out bugs, features, and any last-minute polishing the need to do before players experience the title. 43.5GB is pretty big but from some leaked box art puts the base disc size at only 56.325B.

After all the delays the game has experienced it's by no means a surprise that the developers will be working on the title up until release. This has led to concerns surrounding crunch culture, and the wellbeing of the developers working on the game including Adam Kiciński, CD Projekt Red's co-CEO having to apologise for downplaying the significance of working overtime. This came after the company mandated crunch.

We're looking forward to seeing what CD Projekt Red has created for us all to enjoy. We have no idea what will be in store for us when we delve into the world of Cyberpunk 2077 but if all the hype from the devs and months of delays are indicative of anything, it will at least be interesting. Players will be able to begin preloading the game from December 8th for the release of Cyberpunk 2077 on December 10th.
