Someone got their mitts on Cyberpunk 2077 ahead of its official release and uploaded a short stream of their gameplay to the internet, so beware of spoilers.

Cyberpunk 2077 and the build-up to its release has been like a tiny paper dinghy rolling on the waves through the (figurative and literal) storms of 2020. In January, CD Projekt Red moved its release from April to September, as it didn't want to miss any opportunity to ensure this game would be its "crowning achievement" of this generation. This would afford the team "precious months" to ensure that the game plays without any issues and delivers an exceptional RPG experience.

One would have thought that the extra time would mean that the developers would not need to crunch to make it to the finish line. However, CD Projekt Red expressed its regret that this would not be the case. In October, the teams were undergoing six-day work weeks in mandatory crunch conditions so that Cyberpunk 2077 would be complete when it was released on November 19th. However, the company was forced once more to move the release date backwards owing to unexpected events, and this time, it's confident that the game will hit the shelves on December 10th, 2020.

The game had gone gold in early October, in spite of the project's sliding timeline, and so there are physical copies of the game for a number of its platforms out in the wild. Someone has even managed to snag themselves a box for the PlayStation 4, and uploaded a short stream of their dystopian exploits to the internet. Of course, it's been saved and shared all over the place, so be careful of spoilers if you're wanting to enter Night City with no helpful hints. This person chose the Nomad life path for their protagonist, and wreaked a little havoc in a small town on the outskirts of the city.

The player glosses over the majority of the character customisation options (shockingly), but we do spy the flavour text for the Nomad story, and V receives: three Technical Ability points, three Body points, three Intelligence points, three Reflexes points, and three Cool points. Honestly, it looks very swish, but you'll have to tune out the players' warbling commentary. It sounds like they were extremely excited to get their mitts on the game ahead of its actual release, and might have marked the occasion with beverages and/or nibbles.

I'm sure their reaction will reach supersonic levels when they work out that you are able to use sex toys to batter your enemies with. Cyberpunk 2077 comes to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Series S, PC, and Stadia on December 10th, 2020.
