Okay, we'll be the first to say it. We didn't have KFC mocking CD Projekt Red on our 2020 bingo cards either but here we are. The fast-food place has been taking steps to involve itself in the world of gaming for a while now, including making their own dating simulator I Love You, Colonel Sanders! which was released last year.

Now though, KFC has been telling us that it is going to join the console wars. How? We're not exactly sure. But KFC says that their console release has been delayed by announcing it in exactly CD Projekt Red's Cyberpunk 2077 style.

It starts out almost exactly the same as the most recent Cyberpunk delay tweet. "Hey Everyone. Today, we've decided to move the release date of the KFConsole by 29 days. The new release date is December 11th. Most likely, there are many emotions and questions in your heads, so, first and foremost, please accept our humble apologies."

It then goes on to diverge a little more because it's talking about chicken rather than next-gen compatibility. "The biggest challenge for us right now is creating a literal console that warms chicken, which requires us to prepare and test many elements of it (graphic, connectivity, game accessibility, speed, and most importantly the Chicken Chamber)".

Finally, however, they reveal it's not a delay at all because the KFC marketing team is based in the UK so "the release date was always December 11th. So literally nothing has changed, some of you just assumed wrong. See you in December."

The Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter team found the joke pretty funny it turns out. They replied, "We'd love to respond but corporate approval team never got back to us. Damn."

Well, at least we're now all curious about the KFConsole right? We can't imagine how KFC is going to present it to us, or how it's going to incorporate fried chicken but we're sure it will at least be a good laugh for us all.
