'Cyberpunk 2077' Players Can Finally Romance Keanu Reeves

'Cyberpunk 2077' Players Can Finally Romance Keanu Reeves

Take his breath away.

Long before Cyberpunk 2077's messy console launch and myriad of glitches came to light, one of the only complaints people had about the sci-fi RPG was that they wouldn't be able to romance Keanu Reeves' anarchic punk rocker Johnny Silverhand. It was a simpler time.

Yes, developer CD Projekt RED made it quite clear early on that Silverhand was not a viable romantic option for players. It was never really explained why at the time.. I guess it's because the guy is actually a construct living inside V's head rather than a living, breathing person? Honestly though, in a game like Cyberpunk 2077, a little thing like Silverhand being non-corporeal shouldn't prevent sexy time from taking place. That's the way modders see it, anyway.

In what can only be described as one of the least surprising developments of all time, modders have found a way to swap character models and sneak Keanu Reeves' character into sex scenes.

Over on Nexus Mods (thanks, Eurogamer), a modder called Catmino has uploaded a number of files that allow you to to swap out main romance options like Judy and Panam, as well as the game's various sex workers (or rather, the game's two sex workers). There are several files you can choose from, allowing you to sleep with a number of previously un-beddable main characters, including Goku Takemura, Lizzy Wizzy, and Johnny Silverhand.

It's far from perfect, since Silverhand is simply replacing another character in a sex scene, but it's also the closest you're ever going to get to sleeping with Keanu Reeves. At least I assume so, unless you bump onto him in Tinder or something one day.

Oh, and you can turn Cyberpunk 2077's monstrous Adam Smasher into a joy-toy now, if you want. The results are... unsettling.

You have to wonder how Keanu Reeves himself would feel about these mods, of course, While Silverhand has a few sex scenes in Cyberpunk 2077, they're all shown from the player's perspective. His likeness being shoved into any and every sex scene is a different issue entirely, even if they do look janky and weird.

"Naturally, if Keanu Reeves or CDPR do have something against it, I'd take those modded files down from [the] Nexus Mods page," Catmino told Eurogamer. "But players would, sooner or later, do it without my help either way."
