'Cyberpunk 2077' Video Compares Latest Trailer Footage To 2018 Gameplay

Whenever a game gets close to release, there are some fans who like to assess how much has changed during development. I'm sure you've seen people comparing The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt reveal trailer to the final product, for example. Or the puddles in Marvel's Spider-Man between demo and launch. I wish I was making that one up.

Fans are now digging into Cyberpunk 2077 in exactly the same way. An interesting new video from EdgeRunner [A.K.A. ColdFire Games] looks at all the ways in which the CD Projekt RED open world RPG has changed since its E3 2018 demo. As you'd expect, there's a noticeable difference - but the vast majority of changes very much look to have been for the better.

See for yourself below, or via this link right here.

It's rare that a video game doesn't have to make some kind of graphical concession at a certain point in development - just look at the first trailer for The Witcher 3. That's just the way these things go though, and it's never really an issue. With that said, it's quite something to see the 2018 demo running alongside the more recent previews. CD Projekt RED has absolutely nailed it.

Characters are more detailed. Environments look better. Even smaller details, like the objects on shelves, are now packed with more variety. It's not like the game looked bad before, but this is a super impressive leap in quality. If I wasn't excited to play before, I definitely am now. Although having said that, I was already excited to play it before, so that's a moot point.

I haven't had the pleasure of playing Cyberpunk 2077 myself just yet, but our very own Julian Benson was able to go hands-on with the first few hours of the game earlier this week. You can read his full thoughts on the sci-fi RPG right here. For the most part, he's excited for the game's sprawling story and open world - while also being wary of some awkward gameplay in places.

Cyberpunk 2077 hits PlayStation 4, Xbox One, or PC on November 19th. Until then, you can read all about the variety of pubic hair options you can choose for your character, as well as the fact that the game is hiding a couple of cool Witcher-related Easter eggs. Oh yes, this game is going to be something special.
