Aquaman star Jason Momoa is very keen to collaborate with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in a new movie, yet there's only one hitch in his plan.

Filming is set to start next month on the second Aquaman movie, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, which was codenamed "Necrus." Interestingly, that is the name of another submerged city, one that has tense relations with Atlantis as its inhabitants do not tolerate the acceptance of humans knowing the existence of underwater civilisations. Furthermore, the city itself is ruled by the militaristic king Mongo and is never in the same place twice owing to a dimensional rift that pulls Necrus onto the ocean floor as an alien satellite travels into Earth's orbit every now and then. If you ask me, this all sounds ripe for incredibly ludicrous amounts of CGI and silly yet undeniably gripping fight scenes between dimensions.

Yes, it is splendid to be a goodie and ride (or swim in Aquaman's case) off into the sunset, happy ending in tow. Yet, Rocksteady Studios knows that we'd like to give villainy a whirl, and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is just that. Check out the announcement trailer below.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is also attached to an upcoming DC Extended Universe movie - Black Adam. As a spinoff of Shazam!, it will explore the origins of the hero's archenemy who shares the same unbelievable powers as the ancient wizard. Whether it's Aquaman versus Black Adam or not, Jason Momoa has expressed his enthusiasm for working with the former professional wrestler in an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. In fact, it's a wonder that it hasn't happened, as the two have been friends for two decades.

"We've tried to get together and make a movie together," revealed Momoa. "It's just, he's way busier than I am, and I'm pretty busy right now, so one of these days." When Jimmy Fallon egged him on, the actor doubled down on the commitment whenever that fateful day arrives. "We will, and it's really cool now because he's kind of in my pocket so I can call him up and be like, 'Yo, Black Adam,'" joked Momoa. To be honest, it would be brilliant to see the duo in some sort of chaotic comedy because they've got the chops for it, and seeing these superstars bumble their way through the action would be mega moolah. Call me. We can talk more about it. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is set to premiere in theatres on December 16th, 2022.
