Injustice, the animated movie based on Injustice: Gods Among Us, is arriving very soon and this trailer shows us we simply aren't ready for the brutality of Superman's methods.

As per the synopsis of the game, this story is set in one of the universes that are part of the DC Comics' Multiverse. Here, The Joker manages to deceive Superman into killing Lois Lane and detonating a nuclear device that levels Metropolis, leading to the deaths of millions of people. Blinded by the loss and the disbelief at his own actions, Superman murders the Joker while the villain is held in custody by Batman.

"Now that's a punchline!" sneers Joker, played by Kevin Pollak. In fact, the movie boasts a star-studded cast, with Justin Hartley as Superman, Anson Mount as Batman, Laura Bailey as Lois Lane, Yuri Lowenthal as The Flash, Mirror Master and Shazam, Zach Callison as Robin and Jimmy Olsen, among others.

Superman, twisted by his trauma, initiates a tyrannical regime with the other heroes and villains he has either recruited or intimidated into standing by his side, killing everyone else who resisted. It's then down to Batman to bring together the Insurgency, with Catwoman, Batgirl, Harley Quinn, Mirror Master, Atom and more on his side.

"I'm actually glad [they] decided to follow the violence of the comics," saidone fan in response to the bloody trailer. "The first trailer got me excited. Then came the 'red band' trailer, and now I'm hyped," said another. Safe to say, the DC Comics community is pretty pleased with what it sees.

Intriguingly, something titled Injustice 3: Gods Will Fall popped up in that Nvidia GeForce Now database leak which included games like Horizon Forbidden West, God Of War, the Uncharted Collection and more. While NetherRealm is said to be beavering away on the game, nothing's been officially stated. That's why this discovery set the fandom alight, along with the rumours that it would pit Batman and Superman against characters from Watchmen.

Injustice will be released on October 19th on 4K Ultra Blu-ray, Blu-ray and Digital.
