Everybody disliked that

Does anyone else remember when we had absolutely no idea what NFTs (non-fungible tokens) were? It truly was a happier time.

It seems that almost every day in 2021 has seen another developer, filmmaker, or celebrity we used to admire come out in support of NFTs with their own range of special digital items. This is, of course, a divisive trend, owing to the fact that creating NFTs in the first place relies on environmentally disastrous blockchain mining - and all for a receipt that sort-of proves you own a digital file.

It's preposterous, and most people consider the entire practice as entirely gross. Which is why gamers didn't hold back when Dead By Daylight studio Behaviour announced that it will be licensing it's in-game models as NFTs. Yep, if you have lots of money and zero awareness of the fact the planet is dying, you can splash out for a special Pinhead from Hellraiser NFT.

To be clear, purchase of this Pinhead NFT does not give you the rights to Pinhead in any way, shape or form. You will simply, in theory, own an image of a popular horror character, which you could actually do in real-life by popping down to HMV and buying a physical Hellraiser poster for a fraction of the cost and much less damage to the environment.

In an attempt to sweeten the deal, possibly because Behaviour is well aware a Pinhead NFT on its own is about as valuable as a turd in the corner of a lift, buying the NFT also gives you a chance to access Dead By Daylight's Hellraiser chapter. A chance. It's not even guaranteed.

Needless to say, this move has swiftly been called out by fans - and a number of former Dead By Daylight devs - far and wide.

Honestly, I'm starting to think this was maybe a plan made by the actual Pinhead himself.
