With any remake or remaster there is going to be a little bit of apprehension. It's common that these reissues of old titles come with a lot of weight because they're beloved by the fans. Take the Final Fantasy 7 Remake for example, as it's commonly cited as people's favourite game in the series as well as featuring some of Square Enix's most adored characters - tensions were among fans before its release.

Similarly, fans of the old Dead Space games are no doubt going to be apprehensive about how faithful Dead Space will be to the works of the original development team, but we're happy to report that some of the original devs are back to give EA a helping hand.

Here is the teaser for Dead Space we saw at EA Play...

As noticed by GamesRadar+, it has been confirmed that Dino Ignacio who worked as the user experience director on the original games was asked to consult and help the team working on the new Dead Space. The developer, who now works on Roblox, tweeted: "Back in January, I was invited to help guide the developers remaking a game I worked on 13 years ago. It's been such a privilege to consult and advise the EA Motive team on a franchise I hold near and dear to my heart. Congrats to the whole team!"

Ignacio followed it up by noting that EA's team is "very respectful of the franchise tropes while finding ways to innovate and surprise." It sounds like he approves of the way that the game has been developed so far which is really good news for anyone looking forward to the horror game's return.

As it turns out, the original director of Dead Space, Glen A. Schofield is also excited to see how the remake, as he tweeted out: "Directing the original Dead Space was one of the highlights of my career. Excited to see what the EA Motive Studio team does with it!" It's really nice to see that the old and new teams behind the games have a connection - gives us hope for the terrifying title's revival.
