'DOOM Eternal' Has A Unicorn Skin, And I Desperately Need It

DOOM Eternal, which releases in just over a week now, is set to be an incredibly brutal game. Based on what we've seen, heard, and played so far, developer id Software has taken everything it learned from 2016's DOOM and cranked it up to 11. That means more weapons, more demons, more gore, and more ways to rip, tear, and kill.

But just because you're playing as a Doom Slayer tasked with beating back the hordes of hell with your bare hands doesn't mean you can't look fabulous doing it. Throughout your time with DOOM Eternal, you'll unlock various skins, weapons, and animations - all of which can be showed off in the in-game photo mode.

I don't know exactly how many new looks there are for the Doom Slayer in DOOM Eternal, but one in particular has already caught my eye. In what is quite possibly the most unholy creation since that DOOM movie starring Dwayne Johnson back in 2005, id Sofware has unveiled... a hot pink unicorn skin.

I appreciate that you might not actually believe me without some kind of visual evidence, so please take a look at the skin in question below. I can't quite comprehend that this cursed costume exists, but I'm also really, really glad that it does.

The only catch is that the DOOMicorn Slayer Master Collection is a limited-time, exclusive deal for Twitch Prime members. Assuming you fit that bill, all you need to do is link your Twitch Prime account to the your Bethesda.net account between March 20th and April 21st. Do so, and you'll get access to a few more skins and variants, player animations, and a bunch of other cosmetic goodies.

Still, even if I never get my hands on the skin, I'm just happy that other people will be able to bathe in its ridiculous majesty. DOOM Eternal is coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC on March 20th and Nintendo Switch... at some point after that. We don't know just yet, but id has said Switch owners won't have much longer to wait.

In other DOOM Eternal news, we recently learned that the FPS is capable of hitting an astounding 1000fps (frames per second) on PC - but you'd need one hell of a PC to manage such lofty heights. Honestly, I give it a month before someone playing DOOM Eternal on a high-end PC at 1001fps pulls off a no damage world record speedrun while dressed up as a unicorn. And I can't wait.
