EA has a number of unannounced titles up its sleeve for the next fiscal year (April 2020 to March 2021) and among them we can apparently expect a number of exciting remasters of "fan-favourite" franchises.

This news comes via a recent call to investors in which EA confirmed its plans for the next few years, revealing that the previously revealed Command & Conquer remaster isn't all the publisher has in store on the remaster front.

It's currently unclear what other franchises might be getting the remaster treatment, but I'm making several satanic pacts to ensure at least one of them is Need For Speed Underground 2. I'm told it will only cost me the soul of my unborn child, which I see as a bargain. I'd also happily take a remaster of any game in the Skate or Dead Space series, please and thank you.

In the same period, EA is also planning to release two currently-unannounced projects from third-party teams, and a number of other internal titles, one of which is going to be a new sports game.

It's unclear if this is going to be a returning franchise, like FIFA, or something entirely new. I mean, the only way we aren't getting FIFA 2021 next year is if hell freezes over, so let's assume that game is a given.

Looking further ahead, the publisher also confirmed that Motive, DICE, BioWare, Maxis, and Criterion are all working on unannounced titles.

Out of those, I'm most intrigued to know what BioWare is cooking up. We already know about Dragon Age 4, so I'm assuming this can't be the unannounced game that EA is referring to. Could the studio possibly be working on a brand new Mass Effect, or maybe even a next-gen remaster of the original trilogy?

BioWare has previously been incredibly open about the future of the Mass Effect franchise, with several members of the team assuring fans that the sci-fi RPG is far from over. I guess we'll just have to wait and see for now.

DICE

During the call, we also learned that DICE is working on a new Battlefield that will take "full advantage" of next-gen hardware, and will release in fiscal year 2022, which means we can expect it anywhere between April 2021 and March 2022.

"Targeting new innovation that will be enabled by next-gen platforms and a growing install base on the new consoles, our next Battlefield game is set for FY2022," said CEO Andrew Wilson of the future of DICE's popular shooter.
