'Fall Guys' Drops Fresh Update With Changes That Fans Have Been Desperate For

Developer Mediatonic has answered our prayers and removed back-to-back team games from Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout. Despite its immense popularity, fans of the alternative battle royale have come to a fairly concrete agreement that the vast majority of its team-based rounds are nothing short of infuriating.

It's not that they're badly designed or anything like that, but they do kind of stand at odds with the rest of the game. The whole point of Fall Guys is to compete over a series of fiendish obstacle courses and various other challenges and come out on top - alone. The vast majority of players have all had experience in being booted out of the game before the final round because of a team game, and being stuck with allies who didn't know what they were doing.

While this new update doesn't relegate team rounds to its own mode - as many have requested - this is certainly a step in the right direction. One team game is bad enough, but two in a row is nothing short of insulting. Mediatonic specifically mentioned that this change was in relation to fan feedback, so be aware that the developer is always watching and listening to you guys.

This "sneaky" new update also introduces a couple of other welcome changes. The climatic Fall Mountain obstacle course can now support 15 players. Meanwhile, the timer in Team Tail Tag and Royal Fumble - two of the game's worst rounds - have been lowered to 1:30. This should make for a much smoother and enjoyable experience all round.

But wait, there's more! Mediatonic has also added two new costumes to the PS4 store, based on very familiar Valve IPs. You can now get your hands on a pretty adorable Gordon Freeman costume from Half-Life, Alyx from Half-Life: Alyx, and the Scout from Team Fortress 2.

In other Fall Guys news, the first unofficial esports competition was recently announced, with a juicy $5000 cash prize. To find out how you can go about signing up to compete, head here.
