Brb, booking a flight to Los Angeles…

This Fallout fan has taken it upon themselves to recreate the bobbleheads found in the games and hide them across Los Angeles, paying tribute in a scavenger hunt to the setting of Fallout, Fallout 2 and Fallout: New Vegas.

In the story of the series, California is one of the places that was hit hard by nuclear bombs used in the Great War. Survivors emerged from Vaults twenty years afterwards, but the world looked nothing like the picture books. They persisted, however, and settlements like Necropolis, Vault City, The Hub and Junktown then were subsumed into the concept of the New California Republic, which represented success in spite of all odds. Of course, this wasn't enough for some, and Fallout: New Vegas centres around the attempts to control the Mojave Wasteland from three major factions - the New California Republic, Caesar's Legion and Mr. House.

The wasteland is a lawless place filled with hazards and terrifying wildlife. You'll need something that packs a punch to ensure your survival, and this crafty designer has made an actual Gauss rifle prop. Take a look here.

Collectible bobbleheads are scattered throughout Fallout 3, Fallout 4 and Fallout 76, and these offer players boons in the form of a permanent boost to a S.P.E.C.I.A.L. stat or a permanent perk. For example, the Big Guns bobblehead in Fallout 3 increases the Lone Wanderer's corresponding skill by 10 whereas the Leader bobblehead in Fallout 76 grants a 5% experience boost for an hour. They are tracked with achievements or trophies and naturally, on harder difficulties, snagging these little statues will give you the upper hand across your journey.

Reddit user mafnxxx printed out 20 of these classic collectibles with a 3D printer, painted them, propped them on a Vault-Tec stand, and stashed them in various places in Los Angeles. The Agility bobblehead is by the zoo in Griffith Park, Speech is on a plant pot by City Hall, and Luck is found near an arcade game on the Santa Monica Pier. It's an awesome scavenger hunt, to be honest, and fellow fans are excited to see if they can snag one of the statues. "I would straight loose [sic] my sh*t if I found one [of] these," said FalconKeeperScallywag on Imgur. "Marking these locations so I can max my character once the bombs drop," said another.
