Fan Pitches Final Brendan Fraser Mummy Film Set During WWII, And We Back It

Brendan Fraser is in the middle of an incredibly well-deserved career comeback, and we absolutely love to see it. The star of classic adventure movies like The Mummy and George Of The Jungle was an icon of the early 00's for good reason: he was - and still is - inherently likeable and utterly decent.

More recently, Fraser has been winning acclaim as Robotman in DC's excellent Doom Patrol for the past few years. He's also gearing up to appear in two high-profile projects: Martin Scorsese's Apple TV movie Killers Of The Flower Moon, and Max Barbakow's Brothers. Evidently the man has busy schedule for the foreseeable, but there are those who would love to see him return to The Mummy franchise for a final adventure - and one fan has come up with the perfect pitch.

First, refresh your memory on how great Brendan Fraser was in The Mummy back in 1999.

Fraser played Richard O'Connell in The Mummy and The Mummy Returns in 1999 and 2001 respectively. Both films were swashbuckling adventures packed with charm, romance, adventure, and some genuine scares - they've come to be regarded as absolute classics by those who grew up with them. He also returned for a third film in 2008, but we don't really talk about that one.

Over on Twitter, a fan by the name NikNieblas believes that a fourth and final Mummy movie could go down the Indiania Jones route and pick up with an older O'Connell (played by Fraser again, naturally). He suggests that O'Connel would have become a bitter old archeologist who is forced out of retirement to team up with his son and stop Hitler from resurrecting Imhotep to win the war. Being set 22 years after The Mummy would see the film take place towards the end of World War II, after all.

To be honest there's not much more to the pitch than that, but it had my attention the moment it floated the idea of a new Brendan Fraser Mummy movie. it then completely won me over when it suggested a scene in which Brendan Fraser kills Hitler. I don't know who we call to make that happen, but I intend to find out.
