Mass Effect Fans Are Complaining About One, Very Serious, ‘Legendary Edition’ Bug

It makes a huge difference to gameplay

Sometimes there are bugs you can forgive. Perhaps a little clipping here and there, maybe a couple of broken animations - all forgivable and expected in a new game release. But Mass Effect fans are very, and I mean very, upset about a bug discovered in the brand new Mass Effect Legendary Edition. An 'R' in a menu wiggles.

How dare BioWare do this to Mass Effect fans? Do you really think this is an acceptable way to treat your followers after all these years? Allowing a letter to wiggle left and right for no good reason when selecting the gender of your Shepard is irredeemable honestly. I'm heartbroken, totally, how will I ever recover from this slight?

If you haven't already seen some of the improvements Mass Effect Legendary Edition makes to the series, you can see our comparison video below...

If you haven't already clocked that I'm being sarcastic, well, I'm being sarcastic. This very random and small difference of the 'R placement in the word Marine was noticed by Zappasaurus on Reddit. And everyone, including EA's community manager, finds it very funny.

After Zappasaurus posted their "literally unplayable" post with a gif of the 'R wiggling a few pixels left and right, the CM for Mass Effect agreed the bug was unacceptable. "Pulling the game down as we speak," said EA_Charlemagne. Thank goodness they're getting rid of the game after this massive problem was spotted.

Other Mass Effect fans found it equally amusing that not only the 'R wiggle for seemingly no reason but also, how did the original poster spot something so insignificant? The difference in the letter placement is literally a few pixels - perhaps they have a career in QA? In any case, it wouldn't be surprising that with an update to Mass Effect Legendary Edition this was changed. It's surely top of EA's list of problems to fix.

In case you missed it, by the way, here are our impressions of Mass Effect Legendary Edition. Spoiler alert, we think it's rather good actually and a great way for long time fans to revisit some friendly faces they've been missing.
